I been meaning to post this! two days ago shane surprised me with a gift from our homie Jesse Jones over at Marc Ecko. i had to make sure i got pictures of me opening it and wearing it for ya'll! you can find this in there collection at Marceckotime.ca

To Jesse Jones and the good people over at Ecko - Thank you very much, i truly appreciate the gift. Shane, Ian and I had a convo yesterday morning in the parking lot after my radio interview about avoiding the pitfall of becoming an ingrate - cause with more success and gifts and what not folks tend to change. they begin to expect these sorts of gifts and cry when they dont get em - not me. i will not change - only the level of my success will change, my personal success is the fulfillment of my potential - my god given talent.

With that said i say this - "Let me know when you start getting gifts for being you."

Yesterday i also met Asher Roth when he came to my city for a performance and we sat and had a long talk over breakfast (it was really cool to break bread with someone im a fan of) we spoke about the industry and how influential we both are on the new school listeners - he also said something like "people think im just some punk college kid that came out with one hit and that im ruining the youth by suggesting smoking and drinking but if it takes a joint and a beer to talk with kids like yourself to teach em about the bigger picture in life then - so be it." we continued to talk over BBM all day about how beautiful my city is LOL but i wasnt able to go to his show because it was 19+ and they were very strict about it.

so later today if i get time i'll post the interview yesterday morning with DJ JESTER and i'll also get ahold of the video of me breaking bread with ASH ROTH (oh god - have i become a name dropper? - NAA NEVER LOL)

These shoes have been confirmed as a Parra x Nike Collabo, it features insoles designed by the very popular dutch artist. These are called " Air Maxim 1's" They feature flywire technology along the side panels. Ahh these are too dope! They are set to be a 2009 holiday release, I would definitely go out of my way for these. Just what i've been missing.

Aside from they're previous sunglass collaboration with Oakley, Supreme is set to release two in house designed frames. The Loc's and the MX models are both hand crafted in japan and are available in 3 colours. They're set to release online and in store on the 14th of May.

Becoming part of the H&M team recently I will try my best to update everyone on whats new and exciting within the company. This is definitely one of the best collaborations they've done so far (along side comme des garcons). Just the amount of artists supporting this cause and giving input is huge, and really with N.E.R.D being one of the artists contributing you know there is going to be some great pieces. Heres the actual article.

Barcodes of the Future

Takashi Murakami and LV have created the first set of designer QR codes, which if you've seen any so far are pretty lame. As of now these codes are mostly in Asia but we should see them here soon enough.

“QR Codes are the bar codes of the future, linking online and physical graphics to websites and multi-media. For the most part, the codes have still maintained an abstract look akin to their predecessors. A newly released designer QR symbol, produced by Tokyo based creative agency SET is looking to change all that with a stylized remake of the standard code. Mixing design with technological innovation, SET teamed up Takashi Murakami with Louis Vuitton to create a distinctive code featuring one of the artist’s characters and the classic LV pattern. Now at vans you can customize 3 different pairs of shoes, last time i remember checking the site it was only slip ons and i would never wear a pair of those. They give you the option to customize the Era which is my favourite, the slip on and the old skool. Check it out, theyre not much more then what you'd spend in store and you get them any colour you like, pretty dope if you ask me

Jay's Home Opener

Yesterday i had the opportunity to go watch our own Toronto Blue Jays home opener, and i must say that shit was packed!! We had around 50,000 fans. The Jays absolutely ruined the D-town tigers 12-5. The best part about the games are the fans though, things got pretty wild last night with baseballs getting thrown on the field, full drinks and around 12 paper planes which came from the upper deck.

Today is my Mom's birthday and it really got me thinking about how important she is in my life. Shes supported me through everything I've done, and has had to put up with so much! Shes always pushed me to be someone great and I could not thank her more. I'm the person I am today because of her and I'm proud of it. For anyone that's met her you already know shes the sickest! Playboy - Hot Chicks Cool Kicks

Playboy recently did a shoot at Leaders 1354 in Chi town using one of they're favourite playmate's, Miss January 2001; Irina Voronina. The shoot features 10 shoes apparently any sneaker head would want this year. I mean this is a dope idea but personally its done terribly. I would want to own 2/10 shoes in this shoot max, and the girl is pretty old. She definately doesn't depict what the sneaker game is like today. Check out the Mishka calendar, preferably Zoli that's how this shit should be (Mature Content). Last but not least the shoes don't even fit her, come one didn't duders realise it looks way off? But don't get me wrong I love the fact that they're putting a beautiful women in almost nothing but sneakers but maybe Playboy was the wrong print source.

Tonight a few of the dudes decided to play poker, we normally play for a small amount and its always a good time but the reason I decided to make this post was not to talk about poker but actually the conversations which happen at the table or just when your kickin it at home. It always seems as if there's either extremely weird topics or talks about nostalgia. It started after i found an old Dipset cd from 03' but what stuck out was a conversation about Mcdonald's Pizza, remember that? that was my shit for years! I remember walking from elementary school to grab it and that was only a few years ago. Now I can't even find a picture of it anywhere, it's like it disappeared.

The homies over at Livestock are setting the drop date for April 4th. Kanye's signature shoes have been seen on every sneaker site, there have been glimpses on TV and finally they're hitting stores. Alot of people including my self thought that they would never make into prouction but here we are proven wrong. Retail on these is at $260.
Stop by the shop this Saturday, just be early, like real early.
To me these are definately not worth sacrificing a Friday night over but beasts will be beasts!

Supreme x Nike Sb Bruin

Here we have a collabo with Nike and Supreme doing a new shoe that will be put into the sb collection later in the year. If you know or collect Sb's you'd know that past collaborations earn 500+ for a pair! Most likely though, these will not. They come in suede and feature a metallic swoosh and sole. They feature the words world famous on the back as well. The shoe looks like something my pops would wear and thats not necessarily bad thing. Artist Profile: KAWS

KAWS is one dude in the art industry who's definitely worth familiarizing yourself with. Born Brian Donelly in Jersey City began his career as a graffiti artist. He would take advertisements and bus stops and phone booths and add his own iconic cross bone drawings. From there he graduated from the school of Visual Arts in New York. After a short stint with Disney Kaws started to design toys with the Medicom toy company, which has a huge market in Japan. Later he began making clothing for his own brand Original Fake. He has done collaborations with Bape, Undercover,Supreme, Burton, Nike, Vans and yes he did a version of Ye cd 808's and Heartbreak. If you ask me thats quite the list.
This guy is a beast, I seriously have trouble keeping up with his new shit.

Crazy night!! First we dined at the hot spot in our old neighborhood (Memphis BBQ) Best pulled pork in Toronto. right after, we headed over to a party in the city where we were the featured special guest!! J headlined and performed the new record Hypebeast for the first time. (Tip: if your good at something - never do it for free) - (Fact: we didn't) haha! The crowd went nutts and showed us a ton of love! Now we back at the crib Ps3ing and Jvee is getting dummied as usual by yours truely - pause. I swear dude has been begging me to put in 2k9 for an hour... aha!

Me and Jahvon went to go see I Love You Man on Tuesday night and I must say that it is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Paul Rudd n Jason Segel were hilarious n that whole team has been doing crazy things for a minute. Finally a funny movie that didn't turn overly stupid, im really trying not to ruin it for yall but its definately worth seeing "SLAPPA DA BASS" haha. as for the leading lady in the film, the gorgeous daughter of the famous Quincey Jones - Rashida Jones.

It is themed "The Civil War" collection and features tee's, selvege denim, jackets and fitteds. Me and Jahvon got a chance to go watch one of the first showings of Watchmen on Friday after a performance at our old high school. I must admit i've never heard of it before i saw the previews but i did think it looked pretty dope. If your like me and is unsure about the storyline do not worry it explains everything in detail (About 1.5 hours) im not going to lie i was extremely bored during this time because there was a lot of talking and not enough action..but i do admit it really pick up at the midway (2 hours in). There was some crazy action and the eventual outcome is way better than i would've imagined. I have heard the book is good though and i wouldn't mind checking it out.

But lets see if Jahvon comments because i don't think we thought the same of the movie

JAHVONS RESPONSE:

*CLEARS THROAT* ALRIGHT!! OVERALL THE WATCHMEN WAS AMAZING... I GOTTA SAY IT DIDNT REALLY KEEP ME UP DURING THE SECOND QUARTER (LITERALLY I FELL ASLEEP) BUT HALF WAY THROUGH ALEX AND PHILL WOKE MY ASS UP! LOL STORYLINE WAS EXPLAINED REALLY WELL.. FIGHTING SCENES HAD TO BE MY FAVORITE PART ABOUT THE MOVIE!!... THE DIRECTOR DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB WITH THAT.. WELL WRITTEN SCRIPT PEASE DONT TAKE MY FALLING ASLEEP TO HEART (I WAS HONESTLY RUNNING ON VITAMIN WATER AFTER A LATE NIGHT RECORDING SESSION AND THEN A PERFORMANCE AT MY OLD HIGHSCHOOL IN THE AFTERNOON).. BUT YA FOLKS GO OUT AND WATCH IT!!! ITS REALLY WORTH THE THREE HOURS!!

The collection overall is clean , a little plain but like the visvim post below this they are timeless pieces. i would recommend to anyone in Toronto to go by Goodfoot and check out the collecion. As for me im only feeling the khakis which hopefully have a decent fit and im really curious about checking out the jackets which looked really dope in the LOOKBOOK

This is crazy, SKAM doing the toronto LV store? I never would have though but this is too dope. It's really showing the effect street wear is having on brands , personally i think it's kinda scary and don't know if i could handle a huge change in high end fashion but this is definately what it needs, hopefully it will shed a new light and make it more available to every day people, I just hope it keeps some of the exclusivity everyone loves about high end fashion.

New york brand DQM has recently put up pictures of their upcoming collaboration with g-shock it features a white face with a black band, it also has a DQM logo backlight. It's scheduled to release sometime in march. I'm little unsure about have the black and white combination because it may make it harder to rock with everyday fits but either way, i need this..now.

Working at a skateshop, she gave them out to her co-workers and friends. They instantly began to get noticed and she ran with it. Now in only a year and a half the brand can be found being sold on sites like Karmaloop and of course all over the streets. But of course whats the best part? they're custom so you'll never see two the same!

besides J's new single the most hyped thing right now is none other than kanye west's shoe collection for louis vuitton. This will be fitting for my return, in case you havent seen it yet. But really who hasn't.

I do like these shoes but i hope louis vuitton doesnt get to involved with kanye. I really do like most of the things he does and his style is influential to so many people but looking at this picture i dont really see Louis V shoes. Maybe LV meets some kind of street wear brand but not the label most of us know and i appreciate.
